FABIAN Wilnis is heading to a store near you this week as part of a series of book-signing sessions. The Ipswich Town legend is about to publish his autobiography, charting the highs and lows of nearly ten years at Portman Road. The Full English, available from Monday, relives the glory days of his career - getting promoted at Wembley, playing in the Premier League and unforgettable goals against the likes of Manchester United and Norwich City. However, the Dutchman also offers frank and honest assessments of the bad times with Town, like relegation, feeling frozen out and the unfortunate breakdown of his relationship with former boss George Burley. Wilnis, who has a testimonial match against Colchester United at Portman Road on Saturday, said: "I’ve been working on the book for the last year and am very proud of it. "Thankfully, the majority of my nine years with the club were positive and I really enjoyed reliving all the good times. "It brought the memories flooding back. "Equally, there were bad times and I felt it was very important to be open and honest about them. "I can’t pretend they didn’t happen and it wouldn’t be an accurate story of my career if I didn’t talk about the darker days, when it felt like my time with the club was running out. "The whole point of the book is to give fans an insight and tell them something new. "That’s why I’ve avoided discussing game after game, because most supporters will remember what happened on the pitch. "I want to tell them what happened off it - in the dressing room and within the squad - and that’s why it’s full of tales and anecdotes." Wilnis starts his book-signing sessions on Wednesday, when he will be at the Planet Blue superstore in Portman Road from 2pm until 3pm.. He will then be in the Planet Blue store in the Buttermarket shopping centre from 3..30pm until 4.30pm. On Thursday, Wilnis will be signing books in Sainsbury’s, in Upper Brook Street, from 4pm until 6pm. He then finishes on Friday - the day before his big game - with a signing session at Waterstones, in the Buttermarket, from 4pm until 6pm. The Full English, priced £16.99, is available from Wednesday (July 22). Archived News FABIAN - Frans Thijssen to play!
