FAB is counting the days until the showpiece event of his testimonial year - his big match against Colchester United.

The U’s have been confirmed as Ipswich Town’s opponents for the match at Portman Road on July 25th.

A bumper crowd is expected to see the East Anglian rivals go head-to-head.

Fab was at Colchester’s Weston Homes Community Stadium recently to start drumming up publicity for the U’s match.

"It’s good for the towns, good for the communities and nice for two next door neighbours to have a chance to play each other," he said.

"People mustn’t forget that although it’s my testimonial day, the match itself is a proper, serious friendly.

"Both sides will be taking it seriously as part of their preparations for next season and it could be that both have several new faces on board by then, which will make it even more interesting for the fans."
